Driving around Wellington on a beautiful summer's day visiting with several of our home owners and house sitters, I couldn't resist detouring on the way to talking with the SPCA's vet clinic, to take in this stunning view from the top of the lookout high up on Mount Victoria.
The SPCA is now located up high in the town belt, with volunteers and dog walkers able to take dogs out on great park walks up there with panoramic views out right across the city and harbour.
Wellington is so lucky that the town planners created this green space that's such an integral part of our cool little capital city. It's a fun city for house sitting assignments with such a lot to do and see. We do need a few more Wgtn house sitters!
On this trip I also took in a swim at Days Bay on a scorching (very non-traditional Wellington summer day) watching the local kids dive-bomb into the sea off the wharf, where the little ferry takes day trippers back across to the city.
We dropped by Petone's funky Jackson Street and foreshore promenade before motoring out to Eastbourne, eating hokey-pokey gelato down on the beach and watching the Inter-Islander ferry sail on out the harbour entrance. Yum cha off Courtenay Place this morning back in the city. What's not to like about Wellington on a sunny day?
