Hi, I’m Kirsty and I’ve had many pets. I have always wondered how they feel when I went away on holiday or business and they’re put into boarding kennels and catteries. I’m sure they’re sad and worried and wonder if they’ll ever go home again. (Our own pets never settled into that regime well.) HOMESIT North Shore & HOMESIT Rodney provide security and peace of mind for owners and pets alike. Our Clients know their home is occupied and this serves as a deterrent to burglars and vandals. Beloved pets have peace and security by staying in their home with familiar surroundings, their own beds and toys; as opposed to the drastically different kennel or cattery experience.


I understand that it’s a big step for Clients to take, but we do the ground work. I’m happy to personally visit, meet you and your pets and explain/discuss the service (this visit is optional for you). Based on your unique profile, I will personally recommend one or more suitable sitters for you and your pets to meet and assess. By this, we can all understand which sitter best suits you and your situation. Each Client is different, each client and their pets or stock have different needs - it’s not just size and breed that matters, it’s personality as well. We know which sitters are best suited to meet your expectations. Sitters are not only police checked and reference checked, but personally interviewed so we know they will be able to deliver a service you will be delighted with and we will be proud of. During the course of a sitting, HOMESIT and the sitter are in communication to assure all is going smoothly. Sitters know that HOMESIT will always provide guidance, advice and assistance if the need arise (which it very seldom).

What does this hands-on management service cost? Prices generally range from $20 - $50/day or part of a day.  The actual amount will depend on the number and type of pets and/or stock to be cared for. (See below)  There is a minimum fee of $200 and a possible discount for bookings in excess of 28 days. And, as HOMESIT provides consistently high levels of service no matter what the time of year, we charge a flat fee; no surcharges at busy times. A deposit of $100.00 is payable. (You receive the deposit back if we don’t secure you an appropriate sitter. If we do find you one, the deposit goes against the total fee. If you cancel, the deposit becomes a Cancellation Fee.) The sitting fee is payable upon booking or at least 10 days prior to the sit commencing. There are no hidden costs and you do not pay the sitter.

Whether you travel on business, enjoy a holiday or have other commitments that take you away from home, email, text or phone me - our homesitter will provide peace of mind by taking care when you're not there.

We also offer PetCall daily (non-residential) visits to interact with, feed and/or walk your pet/s and check the security of your home, clear your mail, water plants and deal with wheelie bins.

SITTERS and/or Day Visitors: There is always demand for flexible, honest, pet loving people to serve as sitters and/or visitors with HOMESIT. Maybe you are selling your house, “in-between”, contemplating a bit of travel around the country, or miss being around pets/animals. Homesitting/visiting can be a practical, helpful and very enjoyable idea.

Days are calculated as being the day a sitter moves in and the day the sitter moves out as well as all those days in between regardless of the time of day that they take up and or give up their role.

PetCall or Day Visit (Non-residential)

Our ‘PetCall’ service includes one of our screened and experienced PetCall staff (who are all genuine pet-lovers) visiting your home for between 15 and 30 minutes each visit. Visits include checking & clearing your mail, putting out fresh food and fluids (you supply), clean-up of droppings and/or cat litter, and medicating if required. Also, any essential plant watering, taking care of wheelie bins, adjusting drapes & lighting and a general check that all is secure. The cost (GST exclusive) of this varies:


One visit per day $35
Two visits per day $50
Dog walk - one Dog, 30 minutes $15
Dog walk - two Dogs, 30 minutes $25

We like to make a 15-20 minute pre-visit a week or more before you need the service.  It's a good opportunity to meet you and your pet/pets and finalise arrangements. In addition to being genuine pet-lovers our PetCall staff are hand-picked, personally interviewed, Police Checked, reference checked and we use only unmarked vehicles when visiting your property. There is no charge for this pre-visit.

A deposit of $100.00 is required at time of booking. Full payment can be made at time of booking, or at least 10 days prior to the service commencing. The deposit is refundable if no suitable PetCall staff member can be found, is applied to the fee if a visitor is found and acts as a cancellation fee should the booking be cancelled by the Client. There are no hidden costs and you do not pay the PetCall staff member.
